There may
be circumstances or errors which will require you to un-install and then
reinstall the Dial-Up Networking component of Windows 95. You may need
your Windows 95 CD-ROM or disks to complete this process.
To Uninstall Dial-Up Networking, double click My Computer on your desktop. Double click Control Panel and then double click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on the Windows Setup tab. Click Communications.
Click Details and remove the tick in the box adjacent to Dial-Up Networking. Click OK afterwards. Click OK again to return to the Control Panel. Do not restart your system.
From the Control Panel, once again double click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on the Windows Setup tab. Click Communications and click Details. Note that the adjacent tick box may have a grey background; if this is the case it means that you have only some of the communications components installed. After clicking Details, place a tick in the tick box adjacent to Dial-Up Networking. Click OK afterwards. You may be prompted to insert your Windows 95 CD-ROM or disks into your drive. Insert the relevant disk(s) and allow Windows 95 to copy the necessary files across. Click OK when you have finished. You will be asked to restart your computer; restart once you are prompted to do so.
Dial-Up Networking is now successfully reinstalled on your system.
Please note that when prompted to insert your Windows 95 CD or disks, these need to be the same version of Windows 95 as the version installed on your computer.
