Windows 95 or 98

Disconnecting from SoHoConnect

It is important to make sure that you disconnect from SoHoConnect properly so as to avoid running up online access charges unknowingly.

Firstly, close down all your Internet programs (Web browsers, email clients, chat programs, etc.). Once you have closed down your programs, the process is very simple. Depending on which version of Windows 95 you are using, the process might be slightly different.

In the task tray (which is located on the bottom right hand corner of your screen, in which the PC clock is positioned), you should notice a small icon depicting two computers connected via a cable, as shown below:

Please note that this may appear as a modem, with a red and green light to indicate when data is being sent and received. To disconnect from SoHoConnect there are two methods you can use. If you double click this icon, a status window should appear as shown below.

Simply click the Disconnect button to end the session. Alternatively, you can right-click the icon, and a popup menu will appear as shown below:

Simply click the Disconnect option to end the session. If you do not have a small icon in the task tray representing your connection online, you may see an entry in the task bar, as shown below:

Again, it is simply a matter of clicking this minimised icon to display the Connection screen, from which you can click the Disconnect option to terminate your session.
