In order to
successfully connect to SoHoConnect, you need to configure the properties
of the TCP/IP protocol. Double click the My Computer icon on your
desktop.
Go to the Control Panel icon and double click Network. Change the Primary Network Logon to a Windows Logon. Next, scroll down the list of installed network components and click TCP/IP (note: this may appear as TCP/IP - > Dial-Up Adapter). Click the Properties button.
On the IP Address tab, place a dot in the radio button titled Obtain an IP address automatically.
Click on the WINS Configuration tab and place a dot in the radio button titled Disable WINS Resolution.
Next, click the Gateway tab. Make sure that the Installed gateways window is completely empty.
Lastly, click the DNS Configuration tab and place a dot in the radio button titled Disable DNS.
Note: It is possible to configure SoHoConnect¥s DNS information in this window. However, you will not be configuring the DNS information in the properties of your Dial-Up Networking connection. The DNS settings in the Network component of the Control Panel will override any settings contained in the properties of your Dial-Up Networking connection icon(s). If you connect to multiple Internet service providers, it is important that you do not configure DNS settings in the Network section of the Control Panel.
After you have finished, click the OK button at the bottom of the TCP/IP properties screen. You will be prompted to restart your system so that the changes take effect; please restart once you are prompted.
