Windows 95 or 98

Installing the Microsoft TCP/IP Protocol

This page covers specifically the installation of Microsoft's TCP/IP network component. This protocol is necessary to establish a connection to SoHoConnect via a modem. To establish whether or not TCP/IP is installed, please double click the My Computer icon on your desktop.

Double click Control Panel icon. and then double click the Network icon. If the list of installed network components contains TCP/IP (such as in the screen shot below), you do not need to continue with the installation.

If you are following the step-by-step guide to setting up a connection with Windows 95, skip to the next section on Configuring TCP/IP Properties.

If TCP/IP does not appear, click the Add button in the Configuration tab. Click Protocol and click Add.

Scroll down the list of Manufacturers and select Microsoft. Make sure that TCP/IP is selected in the Network Protocols window. Click OK when you are finished.
