If
you attempt to dial into SoHoConnect and subsequently receive a message
informing you that you have been disconnected from the computer you dialled,
there are several things you can check to fix this.
There are two common causes of this problem: 1. Please make sure that you enter both your username and your password in lower case letters, and that you do not include any spaces or other characters.
2. If your account is operational and you have entered both your username and password correctly, it is possible that Windows 95 dial-up scripting utility is not configured correctly to automate the login process. To check, click the Start button, click Programs, Accessories and Dial-Up Scripting Tool. If you are running Windows 95B, it will appear as a tab labelled Scripting in the properties of your SoHoConnect Dial-Up Networking icon.
Run the scripting tool in the Accessories folder. The Connections window contains a list of all the Dial-Up Networking icons you have created. Click the SoHoConnect entry. If the File name field on the right is empty, this is likely to be the cause of the problem. This is the field in which you define the full path and filename of the SoHoConnect PPP login script.
If you have a SoHoConnect CD kit installed, you will have a copy of SoHoConnect's login script; it will most likely be located in the C:\Program Files\Accessories or the C:\Windows directory. Use the Browse button to navigate through the directories in your hard drive. Once you find a file called SoHoConnect or SoHoConnect.scp, double click it. Click Apply and then click Close.
If you have a tab labelled Scripting in the Properties of your SoHoConnect icon in the Dial-Up Networking folder, this works in exactly the same way as the Microsoft Dial-Up Scripting Tool.
Your system is now configured to use dial-up scripting to automate your login.
